Miss Rebekah and Miss Ing from the Shaler North Hills Library reflect on a headline from the past week through wit, wisdom and song. If you are news junkie, a fan of literature, a library lover, a friend of the spotted owl, a devotee of asparagus, you have found the podcast you had previously known only in your dreams. If you enjoy their daily programs for children at the library or on facebook.com/shalerlibrary, this podcast is just for you. Why should the kids be the only ones subjected to such ridiculousness? *Rebekah and Ing are librarians at the Shaler North Hills Library, however the opinions voiced in this podcast are solely their own.

The US Supreme Court made the news in a big way last week. Rebekah and Ing provide a little history on the highest court in the land and address some of the controversies surrounding its power, going way back to Jefferson's presidency. Then they share their own thoughts regarding the decisions of Bostock v. Clayton County, GA and Department of Homeland Security v. Regents of Univ. of Cal.
Ing recommends Thom Hartmann's book The Hidden History of the Supreme Court and the Betrayal of America. Available for free on audio with you Allegheny County Library Card here and in ebook format here.
